Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 August 2026
Kitchen Connect UK ("we", "us", "our") operates kitchenconnectuk.com. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our website and AI kitchen design tool.
1. Who we are
Kitchen Connect UK is a trading name of Lucas Clancy, operating as a sole trader in England and Wales. For data protection queries, contact us at support-team@kitchenconnectuk.com.
2. What data we collect
We collect the following data when you use our services:
- Contact information: Name, email address, phone number, and postcode — provided when you request a supplier quote, save your design, or use Beat a Quote.
- Kitchen photos: Images you upload to our AI design tool. These are sent to our AI provider to generate your design and stored securely with our hosting provider so the tool and your emailed design work (see sections 6 and 7).
- Beat a Quote details: If you use Beat a Quote, the quote information you enter (amount, supplier, specification) and any quote document or photo you upload. Uploaded documents are stored securely so we and our supplier partner can review them.
- Design preferences: Style choices, worktop material, budget range, kitchen dimensions, and feature selections you make during the design process.
- Usage data: Pages visited, design sessions started, and interactions with the tool — collected via analytics to improve our service.
- Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, and device type — collected automatically for analytics and security.
3. How we use your data
- To generate AI kitchen designs: Your uploaded photos and preferences are sent to Google's Gemini AI service to generate concept designs, and are stored securely so the tool can work (see sections 6 and 7).
- To provide pricing estimates: Your kitchen dimensions, style choices, and budget are used to calculate indicative pricing based on our pricing model.
- To connect you with suppliers: When you request a quote, your contact details and design preferences are shared with our vetted supplier partner(s) in your area so they can contact you.
- To improve our service: Anonymised design preference data (style popularity, average budgets, common features) is used to improve our pricing model and platform.
- To send service communications: We may email you about your quote request or design. We will not send marketing emails unless you opt in.
4. Lawful basis for processing
- Consent: For processing your kitchen photos through our AI design tool and for any marketing communications.
- Legitimate interest: For providing the service you've requested (quote generation, supplier matching), analytics, and platform improvement.
- Contract: For processing your quote request and connecting you with suppliers.
5. Who we share your data with
- AI design provider: Google (Gemini API) — receives your uploaded photos and design instructions to generate design images. Google's API terms apply, and your images are not used to train its models.
- Supplier partners: Your name, contact details, design preferences, and pricing estimate are shared with our vetted kitchen installer partner(s) when you request a quote.
- Email service: EmailJS — processes the delivery of quote request emails.
- Hosting provider: Netlify — hosts our website.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 — loaded only if you accept analytics cookies via our cookie banner. Data is anonymised where possible.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
6. Kitchen photos and AI processing
When you upload a room photo to our design tool, it is sent to our own servers and then to Google's Gemini AI service, which generates your design images. Google processes images under its API terms and does not use them to train its models. We store your uploaded photo and the generated designs securely with our hosting provider (Netlify) so the tool can work - for example, so a design you choose can be shared with your supplier when you request a quote.
7. How long we keep your data
- Quote request data: Retained for up to 24 months from your last interaction, then deleted.
- Kitchen photos, AI designs, and uploaded quote documents: Stored securely to operate the service and to share your chosen design or quote with your supplier. Retained for up to 12 months, or deleted earlier on request.
- Analytics data: Retained in anonymised form for up to 24 months.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Data portability
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk)
To exercise any of these rights, email support-team@kitchenconnectuk.com.
9. Cookies
Essential site functionality uses local browser storage only. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are set only if you click “Accept” on our cookie banner; if you decline, no analytics run. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.
10. Security
We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission. Quote request data is sent via encrypted email. We do not store payment information or sensitive financial data.
11. Children
Our service is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
